This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Car Running Cost Calculator at carrunningcostcalculator.com.

What we collect

The calculator does not ask you to sign up or enter personal details. The figures you type in (fuel, insurance, mileage and so on) are processed inside your own browser. We do not send them to a server and we do not store them in a database.

Cookies and analytics

We do not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. If that changes, for example if we add Google Analytics or Google AdSense, we will update this page first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Third-party services

The fonts and icons on this site are hosted on the site itself, so your browser does not contact Google Fonts or other font networks to display them. The calculator shows a running count of calculations, which it gets from an anonymous counter service (countapi.mileshilliard.com). Your browser contacts that service to read and update the count, so it can see your IP address and browser details, as with any website resource, but we do not send it your expense figures. Our web host, Hostinger, also keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested and time) for security and troubleshooting.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how it is used. Because the calculator does not collect personal data, we usually hold none, but you are welcome to ask.
